The community of Old Tappan and the Englewood Cliffs Police Department are mourning the loss of Keith Wicker, a devoted father, husband, son, brother, friend, and dedicated public servant. Keith passed away after a courageous battle with cancer, leaving behind a legacy defined by service, love, and unwavering commitment to his family and community.
For more than two decades, Keith proudly served the Englewood Cliffs Police Department, rising to the rank of Captain. He was widely respected for his leadership, integrity, and dedication to protecting others. Yet beyond his professional accomplishments, Keith was known for his warmth, generosity, and steadfast presence in the lives of his children, Charlie and Paige, and the wider Old Tappan community. Whether on a baseball diamond, soccer field, or at any town gathering, he could always be counted on to support others with a kind heart and encouraging spirit. He was a one-of-a-kind individual — genuine, dependable, and deeply loved by all who knew him.
Keith also faced his personal battles with extraordinary courage. After years confronting brain cancer, he later fought a rare form of blood cancer with resilience and grace. Throughout his illness, Keith and his family approached each day with dignity, rarely asking for help. The outpouring of community support — including a GoFundMe that quickly exceeded $125,000 — reflected the profound respect and love people had for him, offering his wife Amy and their children practical support and comfort during such a difficult time.
As a devoted member of St. Pius Church, Keith’s faith was at the heart of his life. He embodied kindness, integrity, and service, inspiring those around him to lead with compassion and purpose. His influence reached far beyond his professional duties; he left an enduring mark on the hearts of his family, friends, colleagues, and community members.
Keith Wicker’s life was a testament to courage, love, and dedication. Though he is no longer with us, his legacy of service, devotion, and unwavering strength will continue to inspire all who knew him. He will be deeply missed, fondly remembered, and forever cherished.
