The Tuscaloosa County community is grieving the heartbreaking loss of Haley G. Lancaster, 43, of Brookwood, who died in a devastating head-on collision Tuesday evening.

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, the crash occurred around 8:05 p.m. on Alabama Highway 69 near the 155-mile marker, approximately seven miles north of Tuscaloosa. Authorities reported that Lancaster was driving a Hyundai Sonata when it collided head-on with a Ford Expedition operated by 45-year-old Elizabeth Broemlage of Northport.

Lancaster was pronounced deceased at the scene. The impact of the crash also left others injured. Officials confirmed that Broemlage and a 12-year-old passenger in her vehicle sustained injuries and were transported to DCH Regional Medical Center for medical treatment. The extent of their injuries has not been publicly disclosed.

Senior Trooper Gregory Corble stated that Lancaster was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the collision. The circumstances leading up to the crash remain under active investigation as authorities work to determine the factors involved.
