The community of Rock Hill is grieving the heartbreaking loss of Jamareon Kimble, 19, and 4-year-old Jakolby Clifton, whose lives were tragically taken in a shooting on Frank Street on the night of February 17, 2026. The devastating violence has left families shattered and neighbors struggling to comprehend the magnitude of the loss.

According to the Rock Hill Police Department, the incident began as an argument between two individuals, ages 19 and 34, which escalated into a shootout. The confrontation reportedly continued outside the residence. During the exchange of gunfire, both Jamareon Kimble and young Jakolby Clifton, who was inside the home at the time, were struck and pronounced deceased at the scene.

Authorities have charged Cedric Akeen Creighton, 34, of Lancaster, with two counts of murder, possession of a weapon during a crime of violence, and unlawful possession of a firearm by a person previously convicted of certain crimes. He is currently hospitalized for injuries sustained during the incident and is expected to be taken into custody upon release. The investigation remains ongoing.

Jamareon is remembered by friends and loved ones as a young man with promise, potential, and a future ahead of him. His life, filled with possibility, was cut short far too soon. Jakolby, only four years old, is remembered as a bright and joyful child whose innocence and light brought happiness to those around him.
