Police in Pawtucket are investigating a late-evening shooting that left a local man injured and prompted a significant law enforcement response.

Officers were dispatched to Pleasant Street around 8:45 p.m. Wednesday after reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, they located a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. Emergency medical personnel transported him to a nearby hospital for treatment. Authorities later confirmed that the injury is not believed to be life-threatening, and the victim is currently listed in stable condition.

At this stage of the investigation, police have not released details regarding a possible motive, suspect description, or whether any arrests have been made.
